The Trippet Stones, Blisland & Jubilee Rock Trail

This is a trail that takes you off towards Delford Bridge for a splash through the De Lank River before heading up across Kerrow Downs and out to the vast Manor Common.  You will see Carbilly Tor (from the Cornish "carn ebilly" meaning "colt's tor”), Hawk's Tor and visit The Trippet Stones.

"The Trippet stones are an attractive true circle of stones with a modern boundary stone in the centre. The stones are said to be maidens turned to stone for dancing on the Sabbath."

The ride will then take you across Manor Common and off to the delightful and picturesque village of Blisland. In Blisland, we hitch up the horses on the village green just outside the Blisland Inn and have a lunch stop. Once able to mount up again, we head up onto Pendrift Downs to see The Jubilee Rock before heading homeward bound.

"Jubilee Rock is a natural granite boulder carved with Britannia, royalty, and noble coats of arms by Lieutenant John Rogers and his men in 1809/10 to commemorate King George III’s Jubilee. It is updated on special occasions with new carvings."

The Rocky Tor Trail

This trail takes you out across the moor to Alex Tor, where you can enjoy the breathtaking views of the moorland and beyond to the North Cornwall Coast before riding on to Rough Tor.

"Rough Tor – It’s summit at 1,313 feet, makes it the second highest point in Cornwall. One of the rocks at the summit is a “logan” rock, which will rock quite gently if pressure is applied."

From Rough Tor heading on through woodland to the Davidstow Moor and alongside Brown Willy.

"Brown Willy – In Cornish, Bron Wennyly, and meaning swallows' hill. With it’s summit at 1,375 feet, it is the highest point in Cornwall."

Passing old settlements and stone circles before heading across Casehill Downs (with Garrow Tor on your left), to King Arthur’s Hall, before heading homeward.

"King Arthur's Hall - It is thought to be a late Neolithic or early Bronze Age ceremonial site. The monument consists of approximately fifty-six stones arranged in a rectangle with a bank of earth around them"

For riders and their families we offer Riding Holiday Packages & Accommodation.
